Cheo Hodari Coker (journalist, autobiographer): In my last conversation with Big (an interview and personal conversation at the Vibe party the night of his death), he talked about getting back with Faith. And he talked about his ups and downs with [then girlfriend] Charli Baltimore. But with me, he didn’t talk about Kim. I think that’s affected Kim to this day. Her role in his life was never clearly defined. I’m sure that made getting over his death even harder. She had a whole Jackie O. performance at the funeral. And this was in front of his wife. I think she acted out because she wanted people to know she was really hurting.
Faith Evans (Biggie’s wife): I can’t speak on what Kim was feeling. I know people grieve in different ways. But it just seemed extra to me. And no one was setting that tone. I just didn’t understand why Kim had to be the loudest person in the building.
Charli Baltimore (Biggie’s Girlfriend at time of his death): I sat all the way in the back in the cut with my girlfriend and watched this thing unfold. I remember being at the funeral and Lil’ Kim fell out on the floor and I was just like, ‘Yo! What the fuck?!’ Like, Faith was up there singing and she was very composed and very respectful. And here goes Lil’ Kim on the floor and she starts rolling around on the floor…I remember this girl Lil’ Kim walked up and damn near jumped in the casket!
Jan Wallace (Biggie’s ex-girlfriend and the mother of Biggie’s daughter T’Yanna):I’m not saying he didn’t have a relationship with Kim, but it
wasn’t to the degree that she thought it was - to be asking for ashes.
Sometimes you have to know your position and play it. This man never
claimed her in the media or in front of anybody.
DJ Clark Kent (Producer): Big was married to Faith. You can’t forget that. Kim was never the one. It sounds harsh, but that’s just the truth.
Jacob York (former president, Undeas Records):Big was a very complicated guy. I know he cared about Kim in his own way. But it was messy.
Sha-Kima Jenkins (Kim’s Friend): Biggie wanted Kim to be like a lover and a friend. "You can be my lover late at night, but to the public eye, we friends.”She just didn’t know what it was about the other girls he didn’t see in her.
Monique Dopwell (Kim’s friend and former assistant): I know Kim will never love like that again. She really lost focus for a while. She would cry a lot.
DJ Enuff: “Kim was Bonnie to his Clyde. Kim was his protégée. I think he fell in love with his work. You know what I mean? He turned young Kimberly Jones into the Queen Bitch, you feel what I’m saying? I’m proud of her. She’s taken it to another level.
Lil Cease (Biggie’s Childhood friend, Junior M.A.F.I.A.): [She] came up with us. Of course there’s love there. But she exploited that shit too much, and it wasn’t really that. Big had love for her ‘cause she was part of the team. She was from round the way.
Voletta Wallace (Biggie’s mom):After my son’s death, believe it or not, Lil’ Kim and I were close, but I guess she doesn’t… I’m a woman who speaks my mind and sometimes you say things, the truth hurts and you take it the wrong way. I did not like the way she was [talking] over national television and the radio about Biggie, the love of her life, her heart, her nose, her mouth, her butt, every part of her. Christopher is not here to defend himself. And I was offended. I let her know and she didn’t like it and I don’t give a hoot.Interesting.
This whole thing is bullshit. He may have been a great rapper but as a man he wasn’t shit.
